The
Los Angeles City College baseball team continued its skid last
week with the Cubs now seeking to end a nine-game losing streak.
The Cubs are 2-22 overall and 1-10 in the South Coast Conference.
LA
City 3 LA Valley 7
Away - Tues. March 27
The Cubs took an early lead, 1-0, in the second inning but gave
up six runs in the proceeding four innings to trail 6-1 going
into the seventh. A two-run seventh wasn't enough to spark the
Cubs.
LA
City 3 LA Harbor 20
Home - Thurs. March 29
LA Harbor jumped to a 5-0 lead after two innings and never looked
back. The Cubs scored two runs in the third and one run in the
fourth, but LA Harbor had scored 11 runs by the top-of-the-eight
inning.
First
baseman Jerry Rodriquez was the most potent Cub batter in going
2-for-4 with one run. Designated hitter Brian Carlin was 2-for-3
at the plate.
LA City 1 LA Harbor 15
Away - Sat. March 31
In their second meeting of the week, LA Harbor proved overpowering
in scoring 15 runs behind 20 hits in 41 "at bats."
